This must be your way of making us all blog Shannon! It was so much easier before…lol I so rarely get a chance to listen to music….I know I am odd…but I rarely have the chance. I did follow the link and loved the song!! And I am jealous of the Rascal Flatts tickets! I almost got to go to Lady Gaga last night and at the last minute my friend’s husband decided to go with her….lol. My kid’s are in the middle of their small town vacation bible school tour. They are currently attending their 3rd one this summer 6:30-9 at night….yes! Sounds horrible since I work during the day but they stay with my mom (and my husband….lol) you get the point…they stay with my mom and they are BORED. So VBS does help. I should have read my first post before I added this one, did I tell you all about the turtles? We live in Wellston and the annual Wellston fair with turtle races is the big event of the year. The last couple of years we have not found turtles because they are in high demand for the big event. This year a friend at work brought me two turtles last week. The turtle race is August 27th. Hmmmm what to do with two turtles til Aug. 27th. You guessed they are free roaming my house. My inside cat and dog think I am nuts but they have left the turtles alone since I put them there. The turtles are pretty good at hiding but I am sure that people would wonder why I have random peaches laying around my house. Although yes one of them will only eat meat? last night my son fed him a McDonalds hamburger patty. I think he is a confused turtle!!
LOL together if you can call it that….but hey we are here. I have so missed Shannon’s blogs and the feeling of having a close group of friends from around the country that I could catch up with everyday.
Wow, life since our last blog….hmmm I dont remember when that was but I have had one hell of a past 10 months for sure.
September 9 my best friend Shanna died. Shannon knew her also. Her funeral was September 14th and my mom and dad both went into the hospital the next day. Dad was released 3 days later. Mom was in for about 6 weeks and came home with her left leg amputated below the knee. So she came home around the end of October. End of October it came to my attention that my husband had relapsed on an addiction to pain killers. He is now doing suboxone therapy and doing great. Early November someone called DHS and said my house was messy so I had to go through a home inspection. Guess what I came out fine. Yes it was not spotless my husband had watched the then 3 year old and 5 year old by himself for 6 weeks. However, it was not horrible. The main problem being the weekend before the complaint I said man this house is a junkyard. Well the first thing DHS does is talk to the children and what did my lovely 5yr old say proudly about how is house looked? Of course, he said it looks like a junkyard. So got that out of the way. My dad who had been given 1-5 years to live with his heart in 1992 and 5 years to live with prostrate cancer in 1997 passed away February 2. And of course even with all the extra time we got it was still unexpected. Luckily my husband kids and I all lived with my parents to help take care of them or we would have been moving there now. Mom had another toe amputated two weeks ago, she has a total of 4 left. I know I have had a horrible year but most of the time I still have a smile on my face. I know God will not give me more than I can handle. Yesterday bothered me….Shanna’s husband posted a pic of her babies birthday cake. Shanna and I were pregnant together during my first pregnancy and her last pregnancy. We had our babies 3 weeks apart. And while I know she is in a better place….it hurts me for her that she wasnt here for Jeri’s sixth birthday.
My home life is going good and my marriage, I think it is, I will let you know when I actually have time to talk to my husband. Emaleigh turned 4 and a bitch all on the same day I think. She wants to do what she wants to do when she wants to do it and how she wants to do it. My opinion does not count and is not wanted. I swear if she was the first she would be the only. Cannot wait for this child to become a teenager. I think I should plant some pretty roses in front of her bedroom window so they will be big and thorny by that time. The other day she held her brother hostage with a water hose outside. Yep fun times ahead. Payton played t-ball if you can call it that. He went to all the games at least. He would much rather play with doll furniture and design houses. I do have some hope left he thinks my female cousin looks “sweet” as in hot.
